Orthodox Easter is the most significant religious holiday in the Eastern Orthodox Church. It commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament of the Bible. Orthodox Easter falls on a different date each year, following the Julian calendar, and usually occurs later than Easter in the Western Christian tradition.
