Ascension Day, also known as the Feast of the Ascension, is a Christian holiday that commemorates the ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven. According to Christian belief, this event occurred 40 days after Easter Sunday. Ascension Day marks the final earthly appearance of Jesus after his resurrection and his return to heaven to be seated at the right hand of God. It is observed with special church services and celebrations by many Christian denominations around the world.
